Julia gave husband Danny Moder a pre-Valentine’s Day winter break to remember this week when she whisked him off to Oahu, Hawaii, to check out the surfing championships he’d always dreamed of being part of. Moder was thrilled when Julia arranged a last-minute getaway to Hawaii and surprised the cameraman by securing beachfront tickets for the Monster Energy Pipeline Pro Surfing competition.
Romantic Julia arranged a private jet to take the couple to the islands, and she took their twins Hazel and Phinnaeus with them. Moder was so thrilled with the surprise getaway he let everyone know how happy he was when he arrived.
A family insider says, “Danny didn’t know where they were going until the day of the trip. When he found out he was absolutely thrilled. He showered Julia with kisses of appreciation.”
Julia is finally going to build her dream house on a bluff overlooking the Pacific, a vast plot of land on the California coast she bought for 20 million dollars.
The cost of building her picture-perfect home doesn’t stop here, as she is spending a further 610,000 dollars to have a secluded mansion built on the land in Malibu, reports Contactmusic.
According to the plans available at the Malibu Department Office, the family room is the focal point of the all-one-level 5,232-square-foot house, not surprising, given that Julia and husband Danny Moder have 1-year-old twins.
The family also have a home in New Mexico.
Julia has an unusual fact about her birth and it involves late civil rights activist Coretta Scott King.
In never revealed information, Mrs. King actually covered the hospital costs incurred from Julia’s birth. Sources have revealed that the late Mrs. King, widow of civil rights leader Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., befriended Julia’s parents back in 1967 when they agreed to give the King children, Martin III, Dexter, Bernice, and Yolanda, drama lessons.
According to the source, Mrs. King rushed to support the Roberts’ family when she heard Julia’s mom had gone into labor, and was more than willing to cover the hospital bill as a thank you for the Roberts’ kindness towards black children in Atlanta, Georgia.
A Roberts family friend reveals, “Julia was touched and surprised when she found out. Coretta is one of the reasons Julia uses her millions to help charities working with young children and projects to save the environment.”

Julia has been getting marital advice from fellow actress, Susan Sarandon. Sources close to the situation say Julia and darling hubby Danny Moder were on the outs after having twins Hazel and Phinnaeus were born in 2004.
The friend says, “It was the roughest period of their three-year marriage with jealousy, time apart, and fights about the kids. But they want to patch things up.”
Although Sarandon isn’t married herself, she’s been in a relationship with actor Tim Robbins for that past 18-years. The friend went on to say, “She told Julia and Danny to think about why they had kids in the first place – their love for each other.”
Julia is reportedly in early talks to return to movies with Universal’s “Charlie Wilson’s War.”
If she lands the role opposite Tom Hanks, it will be her first since “Ocean’s Twelve” in 2004, Daily Variety reports.
Hanks, who is producing the film with Gary Goetzman, is playing rogue Texas Congressman Charlie Wilson in the film. Mike Nichols is also reportedly being courted to direct the project, Variety said.
Julia would portray Texas socialite Joanne Herring, who influenced Wilson to support Afghan rebels in their fight against the Soviet Union.
The film is based the book, “Charlie Wilson’s War” written by CBS-TV’s “60 Minutes” producer George Crile.
AP reports that Julia is making her first planned public appearance Monday night.
She’ll be at the Broadcast Film Critics Association’s Critics’ Choice Awards in Santa Monica.
She’ll be there to present a special award to her pal, George Clooney.
Variety is reporting that Producer JerryWeintraub is in the early stages of plotting a third chapter of the “Ocean’s Eleven” franchise with director Steven Soderbergh and his Section Eight partner George Clooney. Aim is to put the pic in production later this year.
